Well, Jamie, some dogs who are known for herding sheep and cows are either born without tails or have their tails removed (“cropped”) when they are puppies.  The reason for this is to avoid having the tails stepped on by the animals being herded.  I don’t mind not having a tail.  If I had one, I’d probably spend too much time chasing it.
